Breastfeeding & Attachment Education Series
Breastfeeding & Attachment Education Series
We are presenting a series of two breastfeeding classes, and highly encourage pregnant people and their significant others to attend. This series is also open to breastfeeding parents who would like to better understand the breastfeeding experience. Though it does not take the place of a one-on-one consultation for specific breastfeeding challenges, it should help the breastfeeding parent to better understand the challenges being faced while providing ideas for coping.
There are four topics in this two-part hands-on lecture series.
Each session is 2 hours and gives room for questions.
Topics:
1) Valuable tips for getting breastfeeding off to a good start and understanding the newborn human infant. Position and latching ideas, and how they change over the months.
2) Will I have enough milk? Breast anatomy and variations, how the breast makes milk and what it contains.
3) Recognizing normal variations, and knowing when to seek help. Handling the normal challenges of breastfeeding and the postpartum body.
4) Adjusting to the new role of "Parent"! Being realistic about the support needed and how to get that support. Changes in that role might include going back to work, pumping, weaning.

The TummyTime!™ Method is an evidenced informed therapeutic program designed to support health, posture, movement, and connection for all babies; it can also treat oral motor dysfunction, postural asymmetries, digestive difficulties, and autonomic dysregulation.
